Kari Wührer was born April 28, 1967, in Brookfield, Connecticut, U.S. She’s an actress and singer, sometimes credited as Kari Salin.
Wührer’s first break in television came from her “hostess” work on MTV’s Remote Control (1987). Following her stint on that TV show she began working in film also. Some mainstream film roles include Eight Legged Freaks (2002), Anaconda (1997), and Berserker (2001). She came to mainstream fame in 1997 playing Maggie Beckett on the series Sliders.
In 2001, during the filming of Spider’s Web, Wührer’s breast implants encapsulated so she subsequently had them removed. She had them put in 13 years earlier due to insecurities, and because of being pressured by a record producer to enlarge her bust size.
Kari married Daniel Salin in 1994 and later divorced in 1999. She is currently married to film producer James Scura (since 2003) and they have three children together.
